When I saw Peter Saul’s 2020 show, “Art History is Wrong,” in Paris right before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic it changed my perspective on what colored pencil could contribute to a space, both as complements to other mediums and as individual works. I currently use this medium to explore the figures I create as we explore the lives of others via oddly cropped and curated snapshots of lives via social media.
